About Amana Melomé :
Soulful jazz-pop songstress, Amana Melomé, is proud to announce
the release of Lock & Key: The Remixes. This remix ep was
officially released in early 2016, hot on the heels of her 2015
album Lock and Key. Mark de Clive Lowe’s soulful house remix of
Lock and Key off the EP recently debuted on SoulBounce, which
supported Amana in the past. The album collaboration features the
magic touch of talented producers Mark de Clive-Lowe, Opolopo, Daz-I-Kue (Bugz In The Attic), Filip, Slimbo and Firefly, who got their hands on Amana‘s sultry vocals and put their own signature spins on them. From broken beat to house, from breaks to afrobeat and beyond, this EP is sure to find its way onto every party playlist!
Not only has SoulBounce supported the album, but Essence.com
featured “Icarus” the remix by Opolopo in their “New and Next”
column spotlights as well. Melome prides herself on her sultry
vocals and funky beats that celebrate the beauty of individuality
and being true to yourself. Essence.com raves about her music,
saying “Amana Melome is a European born, Caribbean-American
wanderlust who travels the world and incorporates every piece of
her journey into her music.”
Melome’s passion for all types of music is evident in her Lock and
Key, however, the Euro-Caribbean-American artist’s roots are in
jazz, having had her grandfather Jimmy Woode record with such
greats as Duke Ellington and Ella Fitzgerald. Melome has previously
headlined numerous international Jazz festivals, performed for
events for Fendi and Dior, and held a lead role on the Italian
sitcom Un Medico in Famiglia. With a strong international presence
already, Melome is working to break into the US market.
The original Lock and Key is produced by grammy award nominated
Adam Berg and Itai Shapira, known for their work with artists such as
Aloe Blacc, Alice Russel and Rhye, to name a few.
You can follow Melome live with various gigs across Europe and
Asia.
