Big Tony has been singing Barry White for many years, with a personal respect for the melodies & style of Barry White. Innovation is the talent of Fred Savio who has remixed the classic songs of Barry White everyone knows and loves

BIOGRAPHY

  • Of Jamaican parentage born in England. Big Tony started at the early age of 5 years old to sing spirituals. In the church, his mother was an important figure in the religious movement at that time. At this tender age Big Tony heard the music his father and uncles would listen to, whist playing dominoes on a Sunday afternoon. (E.g. Natt King Cole, Otis Redding, Ella Fitzgerald and other Jazz artists).

  • With this passion for music Big Tony’s hobby was DJ, A few years passed and music was still his passion. After leaving school and entering into the IT world, the hobby became a leisure occupation.

  • Now freelance in informatics Big Tony left for Holland to become an informatics consultant.

  • A friend in Brussels offered him a job as DJ in a “Trés Chic” club called Le Mook.

       Big Tony left immediately for Brussels.

  • 9 months in Le Mook and Big Tony left for Antwerp summoned by Mike Anthony, an important DJ in the town, also the home of another great DJ and singer Tony Mackenzie. This was to DJ in the N° 1 club in the region The Royal Inn.

  • After 2 year’s in the Royal Inn Big Tony & Tony Mackenzie opened a small club called Funk You.

  • At the same period a producer from Germany came and asked if Big Tony would like to record in his studio in Koln. “Bubble Up” a rap song was recorded in 1980.

  • The same year a Belgian producer asked Big Tony to do a cover of Barry Whites “Can’t get enough of your love babe”. This record was a success in the Benelux, Germany, Spain and France, he then recorded “Ecstasy” and “Let the Music Play”

  • A few years later Big Tony left Belgium to become the director of an up market club in the European Parliament town of Strasbourg. Always with his passion of music

  • Big Tony has recorded “Les Feuilles Mortes” as a tribute to his stay in France.

 

  • Big Tony sings pop, jazz, blues, funk soul and reggae. 

       Big Tony adapts his repertoire for all types of public.
