Everything becomes clear after four seconds of the title track. SEVEN is going «BACK» to

his roots, to his idols and to the funk & soul he unconditionally loves. This album doesn’t leave any questions unanswered; it is a study in perfection, totally unconventional and candidly uncompromising. «This album is me, I am this album. If you don’t like this album, you don’t like me.»

The musician began again from the start. SEVEN thought about the type of music that

stands the test of time, the songs that he still listens to after more than 20 years. «I spread my entire record collection out on the floor and looked for the songs that I still love as much today as when I first heard them. I wanted to know why. A song that stays with me forever must have at least one of these three superpowers: It makes me cry, it makes me dance or it leads me into the bedroom.»

And this was exactly the premise for this album.

Bio :

Seven is a thoroughbred Swiss musician. Seven is unbelievably creative and headstrong, in

the most positive of senses. With a DJ friend of his, an MPC and many great song ideas, his debut album "Dedicated To..." was released in 2002, an album that many record shops placed in their "international artists" section.

Even from the very first moment, the artist managed to establish himself as one of

Switzerland's best LIVE musician, if not the THE best. He released his follow-up album "Sevensoul" two years later and appeared in the Swiss album charts for the first time.

Seven was not only pursuing a career, but was also fulfilling his (childhood) dreams in the process. This saw him open a concert evening for Lionel Richie just after his second album.

With his third studio album "Lovejam", SEVEN completely laid bare his soul, something that his fans still love him for today. This saw him climb into the top ten of the Swiss album charts for the first time.

The US was the defining influence on his album "Home". SEVEN spent six months in exactly the place that his voice, his music and his feeling for beats belong: in the studios of his soul music idols. There he had the opportunity to create music together with these masterminds and to produce songs that shaped him from the very beginning. He learned a great deal from his role models, but also came to sense that with his voice, he didn't need to hide at all. This busy period was crowned when "Home" went gold shortly after being released.

"Like A Rocket" was released in 2009 and shot into the Swiss charts at number two behind U2, brimming with hit songs and cameos from soul stars such as Omar, Beverley Knight and rap star Talab Kweli.

It was time to gain a foothold abroad and so "Focused" was the first taste of Seven's music offered to Germany. A remastered "best of" album, followed by various appearances in clubs and festivals helped achieve his goal: many music lovers were coming to discover SEVEN

for themselves.

Back in Switzerland the singer leapt into his anniversary project. It was a clear message to the narcissistic pop culture: "The Art Is King". No other album caused as much furore in 2012 than this one, which was consistently conceived with music-lovers in mind. Way more than

30,000 concert-goers later, SEVEN stands where he always wanted to be. Where the people dance and let themselves be touched by his passion. Seven remains a thoroughbred musician.

So what's next? As is always the case, Seven followed his heart, his gut feelings and, above all, his soul. Once again, he left behind all his certainties and went back. Back to his first great love, back to crisp drum beats, grooving bass and his real heroes – MJ, Stevie,

Prince… Back to Funk and Soul.

So SEVEN is right back at the start again in 2015, yet he has travelled so far. The

"BackFunkLoveSoul" chapter could again produce something wonderful. Perhaps something

that sees him cross way beyond national borders? The fact is that 2015 is once again the

year of SEVEN, where music will continue to be in charge. "It’s time to take it back…"
