SouLutions are a 9 piece soul band from the North East of England. The band was put together by Steve Lee and Louise Mehan in the early part of 2014 in order to show case their own material which they wrote over a seven year period. Heavily influenced by Philly and modern soul there first release was the successful track Listen which was re-mixed by the Drizabone Soul Family. Listen has been muted as the soul track of 2014 and has been acclaimed not only in this country but has also received rave reviews in Europe and in the States. Mr Sun and Philly Line followed, also receiving favourable reviews.
Nine piece band Soulutions are based in NE England and fronted by the powerful Blue eyed Soul voice of Louise. They hit paydirt with one of last years biggest up tempo Modern Soul tracks ‘Listen’, the extended Drizabone mix is featured in their debut album ‘Destiny’. ‘Philly Line (Hit the tracks)’, ‘Destiny’, are also strong up tempo cuts. ‘I Don’t Wanna Be There’ is a nice upper mid tempo Soul track with more depth. ‘Downtown’ and ‘Love and Wisdom’ are moody down/mid tempo tracks reminiscent of the style of Norman Whitfield/Undisputed Truth from the early 70’s which provides a good contrast to the up tempo grooves. The chill out ‘Peridot’ and more up tempo ‘Savannah Rising’ are nice semi instrumental track allowing the band space to play. Very good and varied album.
